Ingredients
Margarita
-
2 cups Watermelon Juice, (about 1 personal-sized seedless watermelon)
-
4 oz fresh Lime Juice
-
6 oz Tequila
-
4 oz Basil Simple Syrup (see below)
-
¼ cup fresh Basil, chiffonade
-
Barrel Aged Dark Balsamic, for rimming
-
Lime Fresco Infused Sea Salt, for rimming
-
Ice, fresh Basil, and Lime Wedge, for garnishing
Basil Simple Syrup
-
1 cup Water
-
1 cup Sugar
-
1 Tbsp Barrel Aged Dark Balsamic
Directions
To make fresh watermelon juice, dice a personal-sized seedless watermelon and blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer, using a spatula to aid in draining the juice.
In a small pot over medium-high heat, combine the ingredients for the basil simple syrup. Cook until the sugar dissolves completely, approximately 5 minutes. Allow the syrup to cool before incorporating it into the margarita.
In a pitcher, combine the freshly prepared watermelon juice, lime juice, tequila, basil simple syrup, and chiffonaded basil. Stir the ingredients until they are thoroughly combined.
Prepare the glass rims by pouring Basil Barrel Aged Balsamic onto one small plate and Lime Fresco Sea Salt onto another. Dip the rim of each glass first into the balsamic, then into the salt.
Serve the margarita over ice and garnish each glass with a sprig of basil and a lime wedge.
